Hayner Straight Rye Whiskey has won a DOUBLE GOLD award at the 2021 John Barleycorn Spirits Competition and most recently a SILVER award at the prestigious 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition!

The rare DOUBLE GOLD is reserved for the best of the best in their category.  The judges commented, “A most interesting nose with sweet cereal, tropical fruit, and a hint of eucalyptus. But it's that bright sweet fruitiness carrying over from the nose that makes this a rye to remember, and to drink repeatedly.”

Hayner Rye's SILVER award at the San Francisco World Spirits has placed Hayner whiskey on the world stage. To win any medal at the toughest competition in the world is a huge achievement.

Hayner Rye is available at our distillery location and select state liquor stores in the Miami Valley.

DESCRIPTION

Hayner Straight Rye Whiskey is a unique blend of four-year and six-year straight Rye Whiskeys.  We partnered with MGP from Lawrenceburg, Indiana to create this special blend.  It contains 50% four-year Rye whiskey and 50% six-year Rye whiskey bottled at 90 proof.  We selected a mash bill used by Hayner Distilling  over 100 years ago, 95 % rye and 5% barley.

TASTING NOTES

Hayner Rye begins with notes of vanilla, caramel, apples and baking spice and finishes clean with a mouthfeel of smooth cinnamon and rye spice.

WHERE TO PURCHASE

Just like the Bourbon release, the Rye features a postmark date on the cork to commemorate the first bottling of Hayner Rye Whiskey in over 100 years. The first bottling date was October 4, 2021 and only 1,000 bottles were stamped with that date.

 

Hayner Rye is available at our location,  619 Lincoln Avenue, Troy, Ohio, on Saturdays from 12-3 pm and at most Miami Valley state liquor stores.
