"1866: An American Whiskey" Drops Saturday, Oct 12!

This is our biggest whiskey release since our original bourbon in 2021. We spent most of 2024 perfecting this blend, and we're excited to share it with everyone.  The goal of this blend was to capture the sweetness of an aged bourbon with the complexities of a great rye. 1866 does exactly that, and we can't wait for everyone to experience this blend.

1866: An American Whiskey drops Saturday, October 12 at noon. Hayner Distilling is located at 619 Lincoln Avenue in Troy, Ohio.

Hayner History Walk Scheduled!

The Museum of Troy History and Hayner Distilling are presenting the History of Hayner Distilling with Walking Tour and Tasting on Saturday October 26, 2024 from 1 - 3 pm. Tickets to the fundraising event are $25 and must be purchased from Eventbrite.

This is a fundraising event for the museum and 100% of the sales go to the Museum of Troy History.

The event begins in the St Patrick Soup Kitchen at 25 N. Mulberry Street in Troy. We will start with a slideshow presentation on the history of Hayner Distilling from Doug Tremblay of the Museum of Troy History.

We will travel back in time to 1866 when Hayner began along the banks of the Great Miami River. We'll review their tremendous growth into the nations largest mail order whiskey business until prohibition shut the doors in 1920.

After the slideshow we take a short walking tour of Hayner buildings still standing and the remnants of buildings long gone.

The event concludes on the second floor of a 115 year old Hayner Distilling building for a presentation and bourbon tasting with Greg Taylor from Hayner Distilling. Greg will share how the new Hayner Distilling was revived and you will have the chance to try the new Hayner Bourbon alongside other Hayner spirits. (Non alcoholic drinks and snacks will also be available.)

All tickets should be purchased through this Eventbrite website. For questions contact the Museum of Troy History at 937-339-5155. (Do not contact Hayner Distilling.)

THE AWARDS CONTINUE!

Hayner Distilling is proud to announce that Hayner Bourbon, Hayner Rye and Hayner Original Rye have won multiple awards in three prestigious spirits competitions! (See, we told you this stuff was good.)

Hayner Bourbon just won a SILVER medal at the 2022 San Francisco Spirits Competition! The San Francisco Spirits Competition is the pinnacle of spirits competitions and to receive any medal is an honor.  This Silver Medal adds to Hayner Bourbon's collection of a GOLD from the 2021 John Barleycorn Awards, a GOLD from the 2021 Artisan Awards and a SILVER medal from the 2021 New York World Wine and Spirits Competition.

Hayner Rye also won a SILVER Medal at the 2022 San Francisco Spirits Competition! Hayner Rye recently won a DOUBLE GOLD, the highest award given, at the 2021 John Barleycorn Awards.

Finally, Hayner Original Rye, just brought home a GOLD medal from the 2022 John Barleycorn Spirits Competition! Hayner Original Rye is a double oaked 6 year Rye whiskey full of bold flavors with a sweet finish. To honor our heritage, Hayner Original Rye features an original Hayner label from 1910.

These blind judging competitions are considered the most respected judging events in the USA. Medals are only awarded to the best whiskeys in their category. It's an honor to win these medals with the first three Hayner whiskeys released in over 100 years.

It truly does taste good to be back!

BRINGING TRADITION ALIVE, AGAIN.

155 years ago Lewis Hayner opened a small distillery on the banks of the Miami River in Troy, Ohio. Hayner Distilling grew into one of the largest distilleries in Ohio and the largest mail order whiskey business in America. Known for their superior Bourbon and Ryes, Hayner was shipped directly to doorsteps all across America.  Like all distilleries, Hayner Distilling closed in 1920 with prohibition.  100 years later, Hayner Distilling has been reborn! From a few surviving bottles we analyzed the original whiskey and working with Bardstown Bourbon Company created a blend complementary to the original Hayner.

We know Lewis would be proud as we share Hayner's history with a new generation of whiskey drinkers and once again bottle incredible tasting whiskey near those same river banks.
